Velo Vern is the first of several projects planned within our hospitality offering. Our apartments aim to bring casual, well-considered luxury to Girona. Ideal for cycling trips, they are equally suited to the discerning visitor coming for the food, wine, beaches, landscape and history.
About Girona
Girona, in Catalonia, sits between Barcelona and the Costa Brava. It is a gorgeous place to visit, with medieval walls, narrow winding streets and one of the best-preserved Jewish quarters in Europe. It has been a filming location for Game of Thrones and is home to several Michelin-starred restaurants, including El Celler de Can Roca. Seaside spots such as Aiguablava and L’Escala are under an hour away, as are historic towns like Besalú and Figueres, home to Salvador Dalí.
Many pro cyclists and triathletes call Girona home. The area offers excellent road and gravel routes, and you are likely to encounter a world champion or two on your rides. Lake Banyoles is close by, with swimming and training facilities.
Girona is well positioned for exploring Europe. France is a short drive away, a fast train reaches Barcelona in under 40 minutes, and the local airport is a seasonal hub for cities across the continent.
